History
The Warrick County
Circuit Court was established in 1816 with the signing of the Indiana
Constitution, which directed the General Assembly to divide the State
into judicial circuits, and provided that a Circuit Court would be
established in each circuit. Eighty-eight of a total of 92 counties
constitute 88 circuits, while the remaining four counties are in two
“joint” circuits with two counties each. The jurisdiction of the
Warrick Circuit Court includes civil, criminal, juvenile, and probate
matters.
The Circuit Court staff
consists of the elected Judge, David O. Kelley, one Guardian ad Litem,
one bailiff, two full-time court reporters, and one part-time office
assistant. The Circuit Court Probation Department staff consists of one
Adult Probation officer, one Juvenile Probation officer, one full-time
court reporter, and one part-time office assistant.
