FILING FOR DEDUCTIONS IN PROPERTY TAX

  • Real property deductions are to be filed by May 10 in order to apply for the following years taxes.
  • Deductions for mobile homes are to be filed by March 2 in order to apply for current year taxes.
  • There are no fees when filing for an exemption.
  • When filing a mortgage exemption please bring the name of your mortgage company, the address of your mortgage company, and the amount of your mortgage.
  • When filing for an age exemption you will need to bring proof of age (must be 65 the previous December) and proof of income. Your income can't exceed $25,000 and your combined assessment may not exceed $144,000.
  • Types of deductions that may be filed are as follows:
    1. Mortgage                                     
    2. Homestead Credit               
    3. Standard Deduction
    4. Over 65
    5. Blind
    6. Disabled
    7. Veteran (disabled)

FILING A SALES DISCLOSURE

  • The charge for filing an exempt sales disclosure is $5.00 and the disclosure requires at least one signature.
  • The charge for filing a non-exempt sales disclosure is $10.00 for the disclosure, $5.00 for the deed and requires two signatures.
  • There is no charge to file for an easement, but you must file an exempt sales disclosure along with the easement.
  • Any deed that is filed in our office requires an address.
