Warrick County Area Plan
PUBLIC NOTICE:
The Area Plan Commission will be reviewing a draft ordinance proposal regarding data centers designed to place guardrails on data center developments and ensure compatibility with our county plan. A group of dedicated community members spent many hours studying data centers to prepare Warrick County with the following draft ordinances should a data center attempt to locate here.
The draft ordinances were prepared in two steps; the first establishes definitions for three different types of data centers based on size of small, less than 10,000 square feet of gross floor area, medium, between 10,001 and 40,000 square feet and large, anything over 40,000 square feet. The second ordinance further explains guardrails for Medium Data Centers. Large data centers are “not a permitted use within the boundaries of Warrick County, Indiana at this time.”
The Area Plan Commission will discuss these ordinances on June 8, 2026 at a public hearing and recommend action to the Warrick County Commissioners who have the final authority to pass or deny them.
The full ordinances are attached below.

The Warrick County Area Plan Commission is delegated with guiding the future development of Warrick County, which includes the Town of Elberfled, Town of Lynnville, Tennyson and all remaining areas of Warrick County.
They perform a wide variety of functions related to community planning and land use development which plays an important role in the adoption and administration of zoning ordinances, land divisions and development throughout the county.
